EVP Plenum Bulletproofing Kit for Can-Am Maverick R
DESCRIPTION
EVP is involved in all disciplines of racing and works with the top racers and race teams in the world; therefore, we assess how we can improve factory parts. This may involve remaking the parts entirely or finding ways to strengthen them so they can withstand the grueling conditions of racing, as well as meet our customers' expectations for vehicle performance with performance upgrades.
With that end in mind, EVP has developed our fuel system/plenum bulletproofing kit. Starting with the billet fuel rail, we saw a potential failure point as well as the relatively low volume of the OEM part. We were also contacted by a racer whose vehicle caught on fire precisely due to the issue with the OEM rail that we observed. The OEM rail is plastic with a long plastic SAE male fitting. This, coupled with the weight of the fuel hose and under race or extreme dune/trail conditions, can break off and cause a fire. Our fuel rail reduces the likelihood of that ever happening due to the billet aluminum construction and aluminum ORB SAE fitting. A Male 3/8 SAE ORB fitting is included, which mates to the OEM fuel hose without any modifications; however, the thread going into the rail is -8. This means the OEM fuel hose can be replaced with up to an- 8-size hose if needed. In addition, the other side of the fuel rail is also -8, which makes it easy to utilize a return-style fuel system, which is common on BITD/Score race cars. This is much stronger than stock and provides about 30% more fuel volume than the stock fuel rail.
The second part of the bulletproofing kit includes a Plenum Brace Kit. On the Maverick X3, we saw many instances of the OEM plenum splitting at the seams, so we developed a brace that helped prevent those failures tremendously. The same holds true for the Maverick R, which also has a plastic factory plenum that's sonic-welded at the seams. The EVP plenum brace kit is designed to be easily installed without having to remove the plenum. The kit includes a top brace and two side braces to ensure you won't lose a race or have a trip ruined due to this potential failure point.
Lastly, we created a billet hose holder kit, which is much stronger than the stock plastic cover. These will hold the hoses in place and allow you to have much easier access to the top of the engine than with the OEM cover on.
